Respiratory Disease Outbreak 2023 – Learn More

Why did you choose to become a veterinarian?

I have loved animals from day one! Luckily, my parents did too and I grew up on a farm with dogs, cats, horses, pigs, sheep, and chickens. It all came together with my love of biology.

Where did you obtain your degree and/or other certifications?

I received my undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and my veterinary degree from The University of Pennsylvania.

Are there any special interests in veterinary medicine you particularly enjoy?

I have a special interest in dermatology and ultrasonography, but also just enjoy general practice.

One thing you love about your job is…

I am always learning- whether it’s a new technology or treatment for a certain disease, things are always changing. I also love to see the human/ animal bond of my patients and their caretakers.

One thing that is hard about your job is…

When I have to tell an owner that their animal has a bad disease because I know how devastated I would be if I heard the news about my personal pets.

One reason why you love working at Longwood Veterinary Center is…

Comradery! We all work together and it makes work fun and effective!

One thing you would like pet owners to know is…

I treat every pet as if it were my own. If I don’t know the answer to your questions, I will either find it or point you in a direction where you will find it!
