How does it work?
There is a vast body of research supporting the effects of photobiomodulation (PBM). For PBM to occur, a therapeutic dose of light is delivered to impaired or dysfunctional tissue, which leads to a cellular response mediated by mitochondrial mechanisms that reduce pain and inflammation and speed healing.1 There are a number of factors that can help maximize the amount of light that reaches target tissue, including: proper wavelength selection, sufficient laser power, reducing reflection off the skin, and minimizing absorption by molecules not involved in photobiomodulation.

How long does the treatment take?
Treatment times range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on how many areas are treated during each session. Treatment protocols are unique to each patient and condition. Therefore, treatments will vary in time, complexity and cost.
Are there any side effects?
There are no known side effects with this treatment.
When can I expect to see improvement?
Results will vary between animals and depend upon the condition being treated. Chronic pain conditions such as severe arthritis may take 4-6 treatments before you notice your pet is moving more comfortably and seems more active. Acute conditions such as a painful ear infection may improve immediately after a single treatment.
